Monkey Shoulder - William Grant launches new blended malt

William Grant & Sons launches a new blended malt whisky. The family-owned company announced the release of limited edition 'Monkey Shoulder' late last week. The whisky, named after an injury occasionally suffered in the past by the company’s ‘malt men,’ uses malt Scotch Whisky from three distilleries. It will be crafted in batches of 27 casks. Distribution will be limited in London and in Scotland for the initial six months. By July, the company expects 120 style bars will stock Monkey Shoulder. It will be also available in some specialist and the Internet. A 70cl bottle at 40% abv will retail for around GBP18.99
